Questions answered without the fog.
CallPlatform covers more ground than a typical phone system or AI point product. These are the boundaries, deployment choices and practical details buyers usually need first.
Ask about your use caseThe big-picture questions.
What is CallPlatform?
CallPlatform is JMB Technology’s communications operating platform. It combines numbers, SIP telephony, visual inbound routing, AI voice agents, speech-enabled automation, integrations, reporting, customer accounts and billing in one product.
Who is it for?
Direct businesses can use it to improve their own calls. Contact centres and service teams can automate and route common journeys. Telecom resellers and operators can white-label the platform or commission a dedicated estate for their customers.
Does it replace our existing phone system?
It can, but does not always need to. CallPlatform can provide the complete service, route calls to existing PBX or SIP destinations, sit in front of a current environment, or form the dedicated core for a new proposition. Discovery establishes the cleanest boundary.
Can we start with one use case?
Yes. A frequent call reason with a clear outcome and a human fallback is usually the strongest first project. It creates useful evidence before you expand automation or commit to a wider platform change.
Use the right kind of intelligence.
What is the difference between an AI Agent and Speech Input?
An AI Agent is designed for a multi-turn natural conversation using instructions, knowledge and approved actions. Speech Input is a deterministic Flow Builder node for a short question with configured intents, optional keypad choices, retries, confirmation and explicit fallback routes.
What can an AI Voice Agent do?
It can answer and qualify callers, use approved knowledge, capture structured details, work with calendars and CRM tools, send notifications, call authenticated HTTP tools and transfer to a person or service. The available tools and data are deliberately configured per agent.
Can an agent hand off to a human?
Yes. Agent flows support transfer logic, including blind and assisted patterns where configured. The surrounding CallPlatform service can also use queues, forwarding, IVRs, voicemail and other conventional fallbacks.
Does speech-enabled Flow Builder understand any conversation?
No. Speech Input is intentionally focused: it recognises a short English response and matches it to configured intent phrases. It supports a keypad alternative, retry, confirmation and safe outcomes when input is unclear. Use an AI Agent for open-ended dialogue.
What is Speak Text useful for?
Speak Text generates a message whose content changes for each call, such as a booking time, case status or reference returned by Connector Studio. A fixed recording remains the better choice when the message never changes.
Can AI and speech work in every language?
AI Agent language options depend on the chosen models, voices and configuration. The current deterministic Speech Input contract is English-only. We confirm the exact language journey and provider support before making it part of a proposal.
Make actions useful and governed.
Can CallPlatform connect a live call to another system?
Yes. Connector Studio can run approved public HTTPS/JSON actions using no authentication, an API key or a bearer token. A flow supplies reviewed inputs and receives named outcomes and scalar outputs for later routing or dynamic speech.
Which Connector Studio templates exist today?
The reviewed starting catalogue includes Autocab Ghost booking/dispatch actions, HubSpot contact actions, Slack call alerts and a provider-neutral customer API starter. OAuth marketplace installs and “every CRM” are not implied.
How are connector credentials handled?
They are account-owned, encrypted and write-only in the portal. They do not enter the call-flow data, browser response, live call state or routine action logs. Published nodes pin a fixed connector revision so a later edit cannot silently change a live journey.
What happens when an external API is slow or unavailable?
Connector actions have bounded timeouts and every published node needs explicit Timeout and Error routes. The fallback may be a message, a simpler lookup, a queue, voicemail or a person. It is designed into the flow rather than discovered during an outage.
How the platform can be bought and run.
Can CallPlatform be white-labelled?
Yes. Suitable partner deployments support customer domains, branding, account hierarchy and commercial controls. The exact operating model can be a managed partner service or a dedicated JMB-managed estate.
What is a dedicated CallPlatform estate?
It is a JMB-managed single-tenant service with dedicated carrier connections, call handling, platform data, portals and reporting. Region, carriers, capacity, resilience and external AI provider boundaries are agreed during discovery.
Can we bring our own carrier?
Often, particularly for partner and dedicated deployments. The design depends on carrier routes, SIP interconnect, region, failover, operational responsibilities and the commercial model.
Does CallPlatform support customer prepay?
Yes. CallPlatform links a customer wallet, packages, included allowances, overflow rating, renewals, statements and live call authorisation. Self-service card top-up is available on JMB’s own prepay service; partner and dedicated funding workflows are agreed separately.
How is CallPlatform priced?
Pricing reflects the operating model, call traffic, AI and speech usage, product modules, integrations and support. For dedicated estates, it also reflects the chosen architecture. We separate fixed platform cost, metered supplier usage and delivery work in the proposal.
What happens before and after launch.
Can a call flow be tested before it goes live?
Yes. Flow Builder supports side-effect-free simulation for routing logic and a real test-call path for runtime behaviour. Services have immutable version history, comparison and deliberate restore. Important failure routes are validated before publishing.
What reporting is available?
CallPlatform includes live activity, itemised and aggregate reporting, Call Journey, scheduled reports and exports. AI Agent analytics and premium Call Intelligence add conversation outcomes, sentiment, QA, trackers, search and coaching where enabled.
Does a dedicated estate mean no external services are used?
Not automatically. The core CallPlatform components can be single-tenant while chosen carriers, email services, AI models, TTS/STT or business-system APIs remain external processors. We document those boundaries in the architecture and data review.
How does JMB approach responsible AI?
We design around disclosure, approved knowledge and actions, deliberate fallbacks, least-privilege access, data minimisation and human escalation. The exact governance depends on the use case; see our AI transparency page for the public baseline.
